There are so many kinds of friends... childhood friends, college friends, colleagues, acquaintances, long-distance friends, right around the corner friends, friends who are like family, friends who ARE family, friends you rarely talk to, but love nonetheless, friends you talk to everyday, and don't really like at all, friends you always laugh with, friends you always vent to, friends you party with, friends you think with. There are casual relationships that happen if they happen, and there are intense relationships that you work to maintain. There are friends that you miss desperately when they are away, and there are friends that you only realize you've been missing when you connect again. I've been blessed with many types of friends... but I only have a very few friendships that I truly believe in... I believe in my friendship with Alison. We've been friends since the last day of our freshman year of college. She was the resident assistant on my floor in college... and let me break the rules all the time. She laughed when I laughed, she cried when I cried. She was with me on my very first date with Nathan. She was there the night Nathan and I first kissed. She was the only person other than my mom that I wanted with me when I shopped for my wedding dress. She stood by my side on my wedding day. She flew me to Japan to experience life with her, as a birthday gift to me. She made my children fall in love with her. She moved into my house when I broke my arm, and took care of my life... put my hair in ponytails, changed Addison's diapers, buttoned my jeans. Then, she moved away to Atlanta, and although there have been times in our lives when we have been MUCH further geographically... the short distance to Atlanta seemed to stretch into infinity at times... we drifted. But when I was in crisis, and needed someone... my friend Alison, who hates to drive, drug herself out of bed and into her car, and drove to the Atlanta airport and sat with me, all night. There aren't many friends like that. We're best friends without trying. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am that Alison is getting married. Ardy is her other half, and that has been evident to me for quite sometime. They are ever so happy, and they seem to fit perfectly. I can't wait to see what happens next for them. I feel blessed that I have the opportunity to document their love, and can't wait to be a part of their wedding day! Al and Ardy, I love you guys. I'm here for you, as you plan this wedding, and for the rest of your lives... We're that kind of friends. xoxo amber

We met at around 8:30 am...on a Saturday. I'm not gonna lie, I was a little cranky about getting up so early until I saw this spectacular light :)

We had to take quite a little trek to get into this spot of light, but I am so glad we did.

I told them I was shooting their shadows, and they decided to "do the wave". Too funny.
